Carson Gehman, a Cedarville University junior biology major from Hot Springs, South Dakota, was recently awarded a $5,100 scholarship to the Au Sable Institute of Environmental Studies for the summer.
Au Sable Institute is pleased to announce that Dr. Joseph Kerski will be teaching our online Geographic Information Systems (GIS) course this summer during Summer Session I (June 7 to July 9).
The Au Sable Institute has been awarded a $125,000 Planet Award from the Consumers Energy Foundation. The $125,000 award will support Au Sable’s “Good Things Grow Here” initiative, an effort to mobilize 3,600 people to complete 30 habitat restoration projects in Northern Michigan by 2024.
The Au Sable Institute has been awarded a Maintenance Grant through the MiCorps Volunteer Stream Monitoring Program. Funds will allow Au Sable to continue their monitoring efforts on the Upper Manistee River and its watershed.
The Trustees of the Au Sable Institute have appointed Jon Terry to serve as its new Executive Director. Jon has been serving as Acting Executive Director of the Institute and his new appointment will take effect immediately.
We have written a workbook for our college students this summer that focuses on five liturgies of restoration, as well as the counter-liturgies that our culture offers us.
