The Trustees of the Au Sable Institute have appointed Jon Terry to serve as its new Executive Director. Jon has been serving as Acting Executive Director of the Institute and his new appointment will take effect immediately.
“Jon Terry has demonstrated a unique understanding of our values, mission and goals,” said Rev. Dave Lamb, Chairman of the Au Sable Institute Board of Trustees. “These are challenging times for the Institute and our more than fifty partner colleges and universities. With his fresh ideas, Jon Terry has developed a vision and a plan to help us succeed despite many headwinds.”
“I look forward to serving the students of the Au Sable Institute, past, present and future,” said Jon Terry. “From the college students we serve, to local schools, to churches and the broader Christian community, Au Sable has a unique and important role in this world. We will focus on student safety in the face of the on-going pandemic, ensure we have the resources to meet our mission for many years to come, and expand our reach, helping even more people develop knowledge and skills to serve, protect, and restore God’s earth. There is an excellent staff team at Au Sable and we are moving forward with confidence.”
Since 2017, Jon Terry has served as the Director of Community Development at the Au Sable Institute and Acting Executive Director since August 2020. Previously, he was public policy advocate for youth programs and is a former senior U.S. Congressional Aide. A native of northern Michigan, Jon and his wife are graduates of Calvin University, an Au Sable partner school, and is an alumnus of the Institute.
