How did you get involved with Au Sable?

I was a student in Winter and Summer 2003, then I never really left. I transitioned to Environmental Education Intern, Seasonal Maintenance Assistant, and finally got offered a full time position as maintenance assistant. In 2014 I started my current position of Director of Support services.

What excites you most about Au Sable?

Seeing all the people that continue to return to visit years after their original experience and hear their stories of how Au Sable impacted them.

What is something you have recently learned about serving, protecting, or restoring God's Earth?

That our battle is that we humans are lazy and will naturally want to do what is easy and cheap, but restoring and protecting is hard and expensive.

What is one practice that helps you to take care of the earth?

Being out in it. You have to know creation to truly want to take care of it.

What do you do for fun/in your free time?

The season of life I'm in right now is to give all I can to my kids before they are grown and out of the house. So time is filled with their sporting events, board games, and camping.

Have you read any good books lately? If so, what books?

I like the thought of reading, but I tend to listen to podcast. Just started: Here's where things get interesting- How women won WWII.

What is your favorite natural space?

There are too many to chose a favorite, but this place brings me peace.
