Calling all runners, walkers, gardeners, and butterfly lovers, our Butterfly Day 5K is back! This year's race will take place on Saturday, July 3rd at 9am. We will be live and in person but the best part is, it's free! We are doing things a bit different this year to limit the risks and uncertainty associated with the pandemic. To help ease the process and limit contact and crowding this year's event will take the form of a true community run/walk. What does this mean? No registration, no registration fees, and no timing. Simply show up and take part in this great 4th of July tradition. We will have a timing clock for those race oriented runners, but there will be no individual timing devices. As in the past, the event will begin at the Blue Lake Township Hall and will follow around Big Twin Lake, ending at Au Sable's beach where snacks and refreshments will be available. All participants will receive a native plant for their efforts and Male and Female overall winners will each receive $25 in native plants.
