Online Environmental Law and Policy (May 18 to June 5)

Enroll today in our 4-credit online course “Environmental Law and Policy,” which will run from May 18 to June 5. You will study the policy-making process at local, national, and international scales with examination of environmental policy challenges including climate change, resource management, and energy development. The course is taught by Professor Rachel Lamb who currently is a University Flagship Fellow, Harvey Fellow and PhD Candidate in Geographical Sciences at the University of Maryland, College Park (UMD).

This three-week course moves at a very fast pace. Although you may complete the assignments at your own pace each week, there are weekly hard deadlines for all graded assignments. Live sessions will typically take place every Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 3:30 pm (EDT) to discuss your observations from the lectures and to answer questions. Other times may be required and will be noted in advance as the course will include live guest lectures from professionals working in the policy areas highlighted by the readings and recorded lecture content.

Online tuition for this course is US $1,900 with no additional site fees. Students from Sustaining Partner institutions also receive the Sustaining Partner Grant ($500 US schools/$600 Canadian) and qualified alumni of Au Sable can receive the Honors Grant ($300). These grants can be combined.

Deadline to enroll is May 8 and can be done through the “college” tab on our website. Email Shirley Shane with questions about enrollment or Brian Keas with questions or additional information about the course.
