Kirtland's Warbler De-Listed by Federal Government

Restoration brings healing and hope to a broken world. If you are looking for a symbol of restoration, consider the Kirtland’s warbler. This small, yellow-bellied songbird has been removed from the federal government’s list of endangered species due to steady growth in the bird’s population. The Au Sable Institute is one of many organizations that played a role in the management and recovery effort, through our student research projects that investigated the notoriously picky breeding habits of the bird. We are proud to have played a role in this act of restoration and we will continue to work to ensure that the species remains secure.
