Fun facts:

Horsemint does not have traditional flower petals. Instead, what are commonly thought of as the "flowers" of this plant are actually bracts (modified leaves) that are often brightly colored and spotted. The true flowers are small, tubular, and found in the center of these colorful bracts.

The leaves and stems of contain essential oils that are aromatic and have a strong, pungent smell. These oils are used in various products, including herbal teas and insect repellents. The plants also was traditionally used by Native American communities for medicinal purposes, such as treating colds, coughs, and sore throats.
