Silent Retreat: October 12-14

Our world is full of noise and clutter.  Everyone is weary and it is hard to find rest.  We invite you to a weekend retreat to enter into silence and listen for the direction of the Holy Spirit. Times of silence will be observed along with times for reflection and sharing with others. There will be directed opportunities to pray, read Scripture, journal, and engage in recreational and creative activities. Individual meetings with a spiritual director will be offered.

Frog and Toad Survey #3

Calling all frog and toad enthusiasts!

We need your ears to help us survey and listen for frogs and toads in Kalkaska County.

Our goal is to complete one route, three times during emergent windows of amphibians throughout the spring and early summer. Due to the nocturnal nature of our subjects we will complete these survey's after sunset. Participants can ride together in a bus provided by Au Sable Institute of Environmental Studies to 10 wetland sites in Kalkaska County.

The survey's will be completed:
April 25th at 8:15pm
May 16th at 8:30pm
June 20th at 8:45pm

Please meet at Northland's Gas Station to car pool with us in the Au Sable Institute passenger vans. We will depart by 9:00pm. All surveys will be completed regardless of rain. If there is severe inclement weather, the survey will be postponed until the following evening.

Please contact Renee Penny if you are interested in participating in this Citizen Science project. Or let us know if you are interested in completing your own route. You can reach Renee at (231)258-3307 or renee.penny@macd.org
