Au Sable is committed to protecting your privacy at all times. Any personal
and academic information you submit will not be shared, sold, or disclosed
to third parties in any form, for any purposes, at any time.
Cookies
This site uses cookies, which are bits of information stored by the browser
on your computer's hard drive. By using cookies, the Au Sable site
can store and retrieve from our databases any relevant information
about your Application, Course Enrollment, Grades, and Contact Information
for you to view. The cookie is active until you log out or your browser
session is terminated.
If you disable cookies, you will be able to browse and search the site.
However, you will NOT be able to log in to your Au Sable account, sign
up for courses, or view any personal or academic information displayed
in My Account.
General Information Collected
If you just browse through our website and do not complete any forms
or access My Account, we will gather and store certain general
information about your visit. This information does not identify you
personally. We automatically collect and store only the following information
about your visit:
- The IP address (an IP address is a number that is assigned to each
computer connected to the Internet) from which you access our website
- The type of browser and operating system used to access our site
- The date and time you access our site
- The pages you visit
- If you linked to our website from another website, the address of
that website
We use this general information to count the number and type of visitors
("traffic") to the different pages on our site, and to help
us make our site more useful to visitors like you.
Emails
If you receive emails from Au Sable, it will be because you have completed
an Admissions Application and enrolled as an Au Sable student, or because
you have opted to be affiliated with Au Sable in some other way (e.g.
you are an Au Sable supporter, volunteer, faculty, staff, or library
member.) If you are enrolled at Au Sable, the Admissions office and
faculty member(s) teaching the course(s) you are registered for will
have access to your email address. As with all other personal information,
your email address is not shared with or sold to any third parties.
Acceptance of Privacy Policy Terms and Conditions
By using this site, you signify your agreement to the terms and conditions
of this Ausable.org Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these terms,
please do not use this site. We reserve the right, at our sole discretion,
to change, modify, add, or remove portions of this policy at any time.
Please check this page periodically for any modifications. Your continued
use of Ausable.org following the posting of any changes to these terms
shall mean that you have accepted those changes.
Security
To protect the security of the information you give us when you apply
for admission, enroll for course, and when you view information in My
Account, Au Sable uses Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) technology. SSL
encrypts your information so that any secure information you exchange
on this site cannot be viewed by any one else on the internet. The
connection remains secure until you complete your application, course
enrollment, or when you log out from My Account.
You will be able to tell if your connection is secure by:
- Checking that the URL of the secure section of our website begins
with https://
- The icon of a lock or an unbroken key (depending on what browser
you are using) shows at the bottom of your browser window.
