BC: Public Transportation or Self-Driving
Public Transportation from SeaTac Airport Students arriving at the Pacific Rim Campus that need transportation to Coupeville on Whidbey Island may use one of these two routes:
Option 1: Whidbey-SeaTac Shuttle
- Take the Whidbey-SeaTac Shuttle from SeaTac Airport to Coupeville. For reservations and rate information call 877-679-4003 or go to their website www.seatacshuttle.com. All scheduled airport shuttle vans and buses, including Whidbey-SeaTac Shuttle, depart from Door 00, which is located at the South end of the terminal past baggage carousel number 1 on the baggage claim level. Please wait inside the terminal by Door 00 until the driver makes a page for boarding.
- Get off in Coupeville at the Valero gas station. If the Au Sable van is not at the station when you arrive, call the campus office at 360-678-5586. The campus is only 5 minutes away.
Option 2: Shuttle Express/Mukilteo Ferry/Island Transit
- Take the Shuttle Express from SeaTac Airport to the Mukilteo ferry terminal. For reservations and rate information, call Shuttle Express at 425-981-7000 (or 1-800-487-7433 in Washington) or link to their website at www.shuttleexpress.com. All scheduled airport shuttle vans and buses, including Shuttle Express, depart from Door 00, which is located at the South end of the terminal past baggage carousel number 1 on the baggage claim level. Shuttle Express reservations can be made ahead of time or when you arrive at SeaTac Airport (there may be up to an hour wait). Take the Shuttle Express to the Mukilteo ferry where you cross to Clinton on Whidbey Island.
- Once you arrive at the Mukilteo ferry terminal, purchase your ferry tickets and walk on to the next ferry. Washington State Ferry schedules and current rate information for the Mukilteo/Clinton ferry is on the web at www.wsdot.wa.gov/ferries.
- When you arrive at the Clinton ferry terminal on Whidbey Island go to the Island Transit bus stop. You will want to take the Route One (Northbound) bus. If you are using this option be sure to check the bus schedule at their website www.islandtransit.org. This transportation service is free, however, does not provide service on Sundays. You will get off the bus at the Coupeville Park and Ride by the Prairie Center Red Apple Market. This is a 45 minute ride. If the Au Sable van is not at the station when you arrive, call the campus office at 360-678-5586. The campus is only 5 minutes away.
Driving
To Camp Casey Conference Center:
- From the south (Seattle, WA) to the Au Sable-Pacific Rim Campus
-To drive to the Mukilteo ferry terminal, go north on Interstate-5
and take exit #182 (Hwy 525 West). Follow the ferry signs to the Mukilteo
Ferry, where you cross to Clinton on Whidbey Island. Washington State
Ferry schedule information is on the web at www.wsdot.wa.gov/ferries
where you can find route schedules for the Mukilteo/Clinton ferry. The
Mukilteo/Clinton ferry leaves every half hour; the ferry ride to Whidbey
Island takes 20 minutes.
- Once on Whidbey Island at the Clinton Ferry dock, drive north on Highway
525 for 20 miles. Turn left onto Keystone Road (Hwy 20 West), and follow
this road past the Keystone/Port Townsend Ferry Terminal. After you
pass the Ferry Terminal, Fort Casey and the Camp Casey Conference Center
will be on your left. Turn left at the main office (yellow building)
and follow the signs to the BOQ (Bachelor Officer's Quarters) building.
- From the north (Vancouver, BC) to the Au Sable-Pacific Rim Campus: Drive south on Interstate 5 and take exit #230 (Hwy 20 West). Follow
the Hwy 20 signs through Oak Harbor, and continue 10 miles to Coupeville.
At the Coupeville traffic light, turn right on Main Street. Continue
for 3.5 miles (the street name changes to Engle Road); Camp Casey Conference
Center will be on your right. If you pass Fort Casey and the Keystone
Ferry Terminal, you have gone too far. Turn right at the main office
(yellow building) and follow the signs to the BOQ (Bachelor Officer's
Quarters) building.
- From the west (Port Townsend, WA) to the Camp Casey Conference Center:Follow ferry signs to the Port Townsend Ferry where you cross to Keystone on Whidbey Island. Washington State Ferry schedule information is on the web at www.wsdot.wa.gov/ferries where you can find route schedules for the Port Townsend/Keystone ferry. Please make sure to check schedule information as the ferry runs limited hours. Once on Whidbey Island at the ferry landing, make an immediate left onto Keystone Road (WA-20 West). Fort Casey and the Camp Casey Conference Center will be less than a mile later on your left. Turn left at the main office (yellow building) and follow the signs to the BOQ (Bachelor Officer's Quarters) building.
To Au Sable Pacific Rim Campus
- From the south (Seattle, WA) to the Pacific Rim Campus:
-To drive to the Mukilteo ferry terminal, go north on Interstate-5 and
take exit #182 (Hwy 525 West). Follow the ferry signs to the Mukilteo
Ferry, where you cross to Clinton on Whidbey Island. Washington State
Ferry schedule information is on the web at www.wsdot.wa.gov/ferries
where you can find route schedules for the Mukilteo/Clinton ferry. The
Mukilteo/Clinton ferry leaves every half hour; the ferry ride to Whidbey
Island takes 20 minutes.
-Once on Whidbey Island at the Clinton Ferry dock, drive north on Highway
525 for 25 miles. Turn right onto Parker Road - this leads "straight
off" at a left bend in the highway. The Pacific Rim Campus will
be on your right.
- From the north (Vancouver, BC) to the Pacific Rim Campus
Drive south on Interstate 5 and take exit #230 (Hwy 20 West). Follow
the Hwy 20 signs through Oak Harbor and Coupeville. Turn left onto Parker
Road, 2 miles past Coupeville. Parker Road leads "straight off"
at a right bend in the highway. Turn left at the stop sign and the Pacific Rim Campus will then be on your right.
- From the west (Port Townsend, WA) to the Pacific Rim Campus: Follow ferry signs to the Port Townsend Ferry where you cross to Keystone on Whidbey Island. Washington State Ferry schedule information is on the web at www.wsdot.wa.gov/ferries where you can find route schedules for the Port Townsend/Keystone ferry. Please make sure to check schedule information as the ferry runs limited hours. Once on Whidbey Island at the ferry landing, make an immediate right onto Keystone Road (WA-20 East). Make a left turn approximately 3.5 miles later to stay on WA-20. Approximately 5 miles later, take a slight right onto Parker Rd. and the Au Sable Institute Pacific Rim Campus entrance is the second drive on the right.
