Rich joined the Au Sable Pacific Rim staff in mid May 2006. Rich has 35 years experience in the nursery and landscaping business starting when he was in high school. He is a Washington State Certified Nurseryman. He owned and operated a retail nursery growing grounds and landscape construction business for 30 years in Lake Stevens, Washington.

Rich and his wife Nora moved to their vacation home on Whidbey Island to get back to a more rural way of life. Rich found Au Sable a great place to continue using his talents in the greenhouse, garden, and grounds maintenance. Coming from a 7 acre farm and contracting and help build their home in Lake Stevens, he finds the work at Au Sable much the same as how he spent his time there.

When Rich wasn’t busy landscaping or working around the farm and growing grounds, he enjoyed fishing, hiking, and helping out at his church and in his community. He hopes to do the same and more on Whidbey Island.

Rich sees new exciting opportunities and challenges with Au Sable and enjoys working with the great staff and students at Pacific Rim.
