Integrative Sessions
All
courses meet together each Thursday in Integrative Sessions. These are
dedicated to integration of the various courses currently being taught
and integration of these with Christian faith and stewardship. As part
of these sessions, faculty and staff work cooperatively to develop and
conduct interdisciplinary seminars, stewardship workshops and field trips
in which all courses participate. Integrative Sessions are focused upon
an overarching stewardship theme or current environmental problem or issue,
such as tropical deforestation, roles of forests in the carbon cycle,
global warming and the greenhouse effect, ecological sustainability, and
biospheric fruitfulness. In addition to Integrative Sessions, each course
engages in at least one cooperative project or field trip with one other
course. This may include one or two extended weekend field trips during
each of the summer sessions. These extended field trips include provisions
for Sunday worship.
